Renée has dreamed of being a recording artist since she was a little girl. Beyoncé,Rihanna, Ariana Grandé, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey have inspired the artist sheis today. She has shared the stage with Darwin Hobbs, BB Winans, Israel Houghton whilebeing one of the youth leaders for the Youth Choir at Christian Cultural Center inBrooklyn. She sang in the Wingate Concert Series 4yrs in a row which included singingthe national anthems at Babyface’s Wingate performance. Her first single, Brush Em Off,was released May 15, 2015 and was played over 2,000 times in one week. Her debutperformance was at City Walk in NYC. She released her second single, Stronger, inNovember of 2020 along with a music video that was shot in Japan. Performing hermusic live on stage has left her feeling more fulfilled than every before. Renée has beenwriting songs for over 10 years and is proud to say that her Ep, which will be released atthe top of summer, is written and arranged almost entirely by herself. She looks forwardto sharing parts of her journey and connecting with others through performing
TheaterPower house, Renée Reid, was born and raised in Canarsie-Brooklyn and she was born to sing, act, and dance. She is a triple threat and has been performing since the age of 4.Broadway legends LaChanze, Lillias White, Heather Headley, Audra Mcdonald are hermain inspirations. She started her training in singing and acting with Tony Award winning, Ben Harney and started her theater dance training with Hamilton The Musical’s universal swing, Jennie Harney. Renée continued her training at Mark Twain for the gifted and Talented (Dance Major) and Professional Performing Arts School (Musical Theater Major). Renée was apart of an Off-Broadway Musical called Henry Box Brown for a little over three years doing numerous shows, tours, and the Edinburgh FringeFestival. She was the Co-Arranger and Music Director for the show for her last year and a half. Renée has gone on to star in “The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin”playing the lead role Vivica Stanton, play Betty Fikes in the Turning 15 On the Road to Freedom National Tour, and understudy the role of Lorrell in the International Tour of Dreamgirls. In 2020, Renée did two main stage shows at The Broadway Palm in Florida for Prather Productions. She played Tanya in Mamma Mia and understudied Linda Mason in Holiday Inn. Renée looks forward to doing more theater in 2021.
